About the role
Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and enforce project-specific EHS policies, standards, and procedures.

Set project EHS goals, define project EHS scope, and develop strategies that align with the company's broader organizational objectives.

Provide leadership to local or in country project EHS team, coordinating with various departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure EHS provisions are implemented on site.

Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement effective corrective measures and controls.

Ensure strict compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Perform regular site inspections and safety audits to monitor compliance and identify unsafe conditions or practices.

Conduct safety inductions, orientations, and ongoing training for all site personnel and subcontractors on risk mitigation and safe work practices.

Lead emergency response efforts and conduct investigations into any incidents or accidents to prevent future occurrences.

Maintain all required safety records, collect and analyze safety performance data, and prepare reports for project leadership and regulatory bodies.

Collaborate closely with project managers, site staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate EHS deliverable into all project activities.

Actively promote a "safety-first" culture across the project to ensure EHS excellence is an integral part of all work activities.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, keeping them informed of project EHS status through regular reporting and meetings.

Implement and enforce health and safety policies, ensure compliance with building codes and regulations, and monitor quality standards in compliance to the Bridge EHS pre-qualification process and EHS project manual / program – and aligned to the Bridge EHS policy

Ensure our policies, systems, processes and procedures support ongoing ISO accreditation for Quality, Information Security, Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in construction EHS management with a successful track record in delivering large-scale data centre projects.
- Good knowledge of all laws that govern Occupational Health, Safety and Environment for Data Centre related building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation and environmental protection.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- In-depth knowledge of data centre construction processes, methodologies, and best practices
- Good interpersonal skills to be able to relate with people or personnel from different units of the company
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build relationship across many fronts
- Ability to work in a team as well as an individual with little or no supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management or related EHS engineering disciplines
- Significant experience in construction industry safety management, often with a minimum of 10 years for mission critical facilities or Data centre projects.
- Must be registered/certified EHS Officer in Singapore or Malaysia
- Other Professional EHS Certifications (e.g. Certified Environmental, Safety and Health, Charter Safety and Health Practitioner, Certified Professional Environment Auditor, Certified Safety Health Manager, Certified chartered Generalist OHS professional, and/or others) would add credentials.
- Conversant in ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and all Malaysia EHS legislation including OSH Act, Factories & Machinery Act, Fire Services Act, Environmental legislation and subsidiary regulations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable standards.
- Ability to conduct inspections, deliver training, and manage a team
- Any other certification would be a plus.
- Good communication skills, Bilingual with English and Chinese (Read and Write)
