Why we need this role

As Asia Procurement Manager you will lead procurement and sourcing activity across Asia Finance, based in Tokyo and reporting directly to the CFO Asia. You will manage the regional procurement programme in a robust and commercially effective manner, ensuring that Colt secures equipment, goods and services at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier governance, legal compliance and stakeholder alignment.

You will manage and develop the Procurement Sourcing Analyst role and work closely with regional business leaders, global procurement colleagues and suppliers across a matrixed, multinational environment.

What you will do

  • Lead procurement and sourcing activities across Asia, providing high-level and detailed advice, reports and analysis to the CFO Asia, regional leadership and relevant global procurement stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver regional sourcing strategies, category plans, implementation plans and supplier contracts aligned to business priorities and global procurement frameworks.
  • Manage procurement expenditure, supplier relationships and commercial negotiations for designated Asia categories, ensuring value, quality and risk are appropriately balanced.
  • Oversee RFx activity, supplier evaluations, bid processes and comparative analysis, ensuring decisions are transparent, data-led and compliant with procurement policies.
  • Manage and develop the regional supplier network, ensuring vendors are reviewed regularly and contractual arrangements remain commercially robust and legally compliant.
  • Align with global Procurement and Finance stakeholders to develop and align with group-level initiative and strategy
  • Lead, coach and develop the Asia Procurement function, building capability, engagement and a strong service mindset within the team.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, business stakeholders and global procurement teams to resolve issues, manage escalations and support consistent adoption of procurement tools, governance and standards.
  • Track savings, procurement performance, supplier risks and sourcing milestones, providing clear reporting and follow-through on actions.

What we're looking for

Must haves:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Proven ability to control costs, negotiate agreements and deliver measurable commercial value through supplier management.
  • Experience developing procurement plans, sourcing strategies and supplier contracts that balance cost, quality, risk and service outcomes.
  • Strong risk management, governance and compliance mindset, including the ability to work within legal and policy frameworks.
  • Experience leading, coaching or developing team members, with the ability to build trust and support performance in a collaborative environment.
  • Fluency in business-level English and Japanese, both written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical capability, including comfort with spend data, cost models, savings reporting and executive-level communication.

Might haves:

  • Experience working across multiple Asian markets, including Singapore and Hong Kong
  • Knowledge of telecoms, technology, network infrastructure or professional services procurement categories.
  • Experience using procurement, sourcing or ERP platforms to manage sourcing workflows, approvals and reporting.
  • Professional procurement qualification or training, such as CIPS or equivalent, would be an advantage.
