Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, execute, and maintain load, stress, endurance, spike, and capacity tests.

Create and maintain reusable performance test frameworks and automated test assets.

Define test workloads based on production usage patterns and expected business growth.

Partner with developers, architects, infrastructure, and product teams to resolve performance bottlenecks.

Produce clear performance assessment reports, risk evaluations, and release recommendations.
-
Establish and maintain performance testing standards, templates, and best practices.
-
Support capacity planning and performance readiness assessments for major releases and platform changes.

Scope: All IS applications, services, APIs, and supporting infrastructure

Strongly advise on performance testing approaches, methodologies, and quality gates.

Strongly advise on performance engineering tooling, automation frameworks, and license procurement decisions.

Strongly advise on application and platform performance KPIs, SLAs, SLOs, and acceptance criteria.

Recommend release readiness from a performance perspective based on objective evidence.

Resources: ~10 automation resources from vendors as peers, some existing licenses for BrowserStack, LoadRunner
Ideal Track Record:

Successfully led performance test runs for multiple enterprise-scale software releases with demonstrable performance improvements for said software.

Identified and helped resolve critical production or pre-production bottlenecks that improved application response times, throughput, or stability.

Designed performance test plans for web and mobile applications, with clear ability to explain environmental considerations in said plans.

Designed and implemented automated performance testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

Established performance baselines, KPIs, and testing standards adopted by engineering teams, with reports or dashboards designed to communicate such findings with non-tech stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to influence engineering teams using data-driven recommendations and technical analysis.
