About the role
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
-
Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety by adhering to all Cummins HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
-
Stop work immediately and report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, or injury hazards.
-
Follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety requirements, and safe work practices.
-
Conduct Job Safety Assessments (JSA) and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
Recognize environmental impacts and support sustainability initiatives within manufacturing operations.
-
Promote an interdependent safety culture by identifying, correcting, and escalating hazards.
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
-
Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, emergency, and breakdown maintenance activities.
-
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, industrial controls, automation equipment, PLCs, drives, and production machinery.
-
Support equipment uptime initiatives through effective failure analysis and reliability improvement activities.
-
Maintain and repair production, assembly, and testing equipment according to established standards and procedures.
-
Document maintenance activities and provide feedback into preventive maintenance systems.
Automation, Robotics & Controls
-
Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens S7-1500 PLC-based automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal.
-
Perform PLC programming modifications, upgrades, and system enhancements.
-
Support operation and maintenance of industrial robots including ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, and collaborative robotics systems.
-
Troubleshoot motion control, servo systems, industrial drives, and machine automation technologies.
-
Support machine communications through PROFINET, OPC UA, TCP/IP, and related industrial networking protocols.
-
Assist with integration of manufacturing systems, machine vision solutions, process controls, and CMES systems.
Quality & Operational Excellence
-
Perform work according to technical specifications, electrical schematics, process documentation, and quality standards.
-
Conduct quality inspections and identify opportunities to reduce quality and cost risks.
-
Analyze equipment failures, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
-
Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
-
Identify manufacturing constraints and contribute to process optimization efforts.
Asset Care & Housekeeping
-
Maintain tools, fixtures, assembly equipment, and testing systems.
-
Support calibration, inspection, and functionality verification activities.
-
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
-
Support spare parts management and inventory planning for maintenance and automation assets.
Collaboration & Development
-
Collaborate with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, IT, Maintenance, and support teams to achieve operational goals.
-
Coordinate with vendors and contractors during maintenance and improvement projects.
-
Communicate technical issues, solutions, and improvement opportunities effectively to stakeholders.
-
Support and mentor junior technicians when required.
-
Complete required technical, safety, and professional development training.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma, secondary education certificate, technical diploma, or equivalent applicable experience.
-
Relevant industrial maintenance, automation, electrical, or manufacturing experience.
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
-
Knowledge of industrial safety practices and electrical safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Technical certifications in Electrical Systems, PLC Programming, Robotics, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Maintenance.
-
Experience working within manufacturing or high-volume production environments.
-
Experience with automation, robotics, industrial networking, and machine controls.
-
Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Licenses & Certifications
-
Additional technical certifications are preferred.
-
Export control or sanctions-related licensing may be required where applicable.

Hands-on experience with industrial equipment troubleshooting and repair.
-
Experience participating in continuous improvement, TPM, Lean, or reliability initiatives.
-
Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
-
Experience supporting automated production systems and industrial controls is considered a strong advantage.
