About the role

The Solution Architect – Senior is responsible for defining and developing solution architectures that align with enterprise architecture strategies, principles, policies, standards, and business requirements. This role evaluates and applies solution designs for specific systems in collaboration with project and product teams and ensures solutions meet business, technical, security, governance, compliance, scalability, and performance requirements. The role involves translating complex business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs, evaluating multiple architectural options, conducting cost-benefit analysis, and recommending optimized solutions. The Solution Architect – Senior also stays current with emerging technologies and supports pilots and proof-of-concept initiatives to validate new technology capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Define solution and system architectures in alignment with enterprise architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, and technology principles.
Decompose systems into components, perform functional allocation, and establish interfaces between systems and system components.
Develop and evaluate multiple solution options, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and recommend optimized solutions based on business and technical requirements.
Design scalable architecture solutions for cloud-based platforms, enterprise applications, data and analytics platforms, and integrated systems.
Develop and maintain architecture deliverables, including conceptual and logical models, solution diagrams, architecture patterns, and technical documentation.
Apply enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, technology stacks, architecture patterns, and reference models to solution designs.
Architect and integrate enterprise applications, data platforms, APIs, and other technology systems to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Translate complex business requirements, industry requirements, and governance considerations into practical and scalable technical solutions.
Ensure solution designs address security, governance, compliance, performance, scalability, buildability, and operational requirements.
Collaborate with project, product, engineering, data, security, and business teams to drive successful solution development and delivery.
Provide technical leadership and influence architecture decisions across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Facilitate and support pilots, proof-of-concept activities, and technology evaluations to validate emerging technologies and architectural approaches.
Analyze infrastructure and technology capacity and provide recommendations to support current and future business needs.
Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, software trends, tools, and industry practices and assess their applicability to business solutions.
Support the adoption of Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
Identify, assess, and manage technical risks and issues and drive appropriate mitigation actions.
Build strong relationships with customers, business stakeholders, technology teams, and peers to promote effective solution development and delivery.
Apply effective Business Relationship Management practices to ensure technology solutions deliver measurable business value.
Drive changes in technical architecture and standards into solution designs when business or technology needs evolve.

Experience

Intermediate to advanced experience in solution architecture, enterprise systems, cloud architecture, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience designing architectures for cloud-based platforms and enterprise applications.
Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions.
Experience designing enterprise data, analytics, AI/ML, and integration solutions.
Experience architecting integrations across enterprise applications, APIs, and data platforms.
Experience developing solution designs, architecture models, technical documentation, and reference patterns.
Experience evaluating technology options and recommending solutions based on technical feasibility, business value, cost, performance, and scalability.
Experience leading or influencing cross-functional technical teams and architecture decisions.
Experience managing technical risks, issues, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs.
Experience working in Agile and/or DevSecOps environments is preferred.

Qualifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
Relevant equivalent experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
Strong understanding of enterprise and solution architecture principles, methodologies, and frameworks.
Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms and enterprise application architecture.
Ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable solution architectures.
Strong understanding of data, analytics, AI/ML, integration, security, governance, and enterprise technology concepts.
This position may require licensing or compliance with applicable export controls or sanctions regulations.
