About the role

Responsibilities

A. Concentrate Material Planning & Availability

  • Prepare rolling concentrate material plans by using Blend optimization model aligned with smelter, SAP, Refinery, PMR feed requirements( in line with TOR ), production targets, stock norms, and shipment schedules.
  • Monitor concentrate inventory across port, plant, yards, warehouses, and in-transit positions to ensure uninterrupted availability.
  • Coordinate with commercial and procurement teams for shipment visibility, arrival schedules, allocation plans, and supply continuity.
  • Track daily consumption, receipts, stock ageing, inventory coverage, and deviations against plan.
  • Support proactive risk mitigation for feed shortages, shipment delays, quality variations, demurrage exposure, and operational constraints.

B. Concentrate Quality, Blending & Consumption Coordination

  • Coordinate with operations, laboratory, quality, and process teams for concentrate grade, moisture, impurity levels, assay results, and blend suitability.
  • Support development of concentrate blend plans considering copper grade, impurities, process constraints, availability, and plant performance requirements.
  • Track planned versus actual feed consumption, blend deviations, quality impact, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain material master data, quality records, stock reconciliation inputs, and planning assumptions for accurate decision-making.
  • Provide planning inputs for feed optimization, process stability, and raw material utilization improvement.
  • Optimize secondary materials, internal by products etc consumption plan basis concentrate blend for best utilization of resources and guide operation team.

C. Logistics, Port Coordination & Material Movement

  • Coordinate with port, logistics, supply chain, and operations teams for vessel berthing, unloading, evacuation, storage, and internal material movement.
  • Track vessel ETA, discharge status, rake / truck movement, yard capacity, handling constraints, and dispatch priorities.
  • Support timely movement of concentrate from port to plant based on production priorities and inventory cover requirements.
  • Monitor logistics-related risks including congestion, delays, demurrage, detention, handling losses, and storage limitations.
  • Prepare daily and weekly material movement updates for planning reviews and leadership visibility.

D. Inventory Control, Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Drive structured monitoring of opening stock, receipts, consumption, closing stock, in-transit material, and inventory cover days.
  • Coordinate periodic stock reconciliation with finance, stores, operations, port, commercial, and weighbridge teams.
  • Maintain planning dashboards, MIS reports, stock ageing analysis, shipment tracker, and concentrate availability summaries.
  • Identify variances in book stock versus physical stock and support root-cause analysis with concerned stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for daily production meetings, monthly reviews, and raw material governance forums.

E. Planning Governance, Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish planning discipline through daily reviews, exception reporting, escalation mechanisms, and corrective action tracking.
  • Develop scenario plans for shipment delays, quality deviations, high / low stock situations, production changes, and logistics disruptions.
  • Support digitalization of raw material planning through dashboards, automated trackers, SAP / system reports, and analytics-based decision support.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy, planning reliability, stock visibility, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Develop strong functional depth across concentrate planning, commercial interfaces, logistics operations, plant consumption, and inventory governance to provide reliable planning support and business continuity.
