Job Summary
The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for new and existing Airside Handling Unit products, with strong emphasis on product process design, sequence of events (SOE), time study, layout planning, lean line design, automation, and new product development (NPD). This role partners with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and product engineering teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. Facility maintenance support is considered a plus, but not a primary responsibility
Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead product process design for new product introduction and existing product improvements.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process flow, routing, and sequence of events (SOE) to ensure efficient and repeatable production.
- Conduct time studies and analyze labor content, cycle time, and line balance to optimize productivity.
- Create and improve work instructions, process standards, and manufacturing documentation.
- Drive layout planning for production areas, equipment placement, material flow, and operator movement.
- Lead line design and line balancing activities to support efficient manufacturing flow and capacity requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation to improve line efficiency, reduce manual handling, and enhance quality and safety.
- Support new product development (NPD) by defining manufacturable processes, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and production readiness plans.
- Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with plant capabilities.
- Support process validation, pilot builds, and production launch activities for new products.
- Analyze manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and data-driven problem solving.
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, and process investments to improve throughput, cost, ergonomics, and quality.
- Monitor key KPIs such as cycle time, labor efficiency, throughput, downtime, scrap, and first-pass yield.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, quality, maintenance, EHS, and supply chain teams to sustain and improve manufacturing performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and production support personnel.

Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or production engineering, HVAC product experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis tools, Solid knowledge of layout planning, line design, line balancing, and material flow optimization.
- Experience in automation projects and manufacturing productivity improvement.
- Hands-on involvement in new product development (NPD) and production launch support.
- Good project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with capital equipment or automation implementation.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process validation, and standard work.
- Familiarity with CAD or layout design tools.
- Experience supporting facility or infrastructure-related maintenance is a plus.
- **Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
