Functional Analyst - R12 Projects

About the role
What you will do
- Provide production support for Oracle R12 Project Accounting and resolve complex tickets raised by business users.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis for application, process, and data issues and drive permanent resolution of recurring problems.
- Partner directly with business users to understand issues, clarify functional requirements, and provide solution-oriented support.
- Coordinate with cross-functional IT, finance, and business teams to manage incidents, defects, and enhancement requests.
- Support key Oracle Projects functions including project costing, project billing, revenue processing, cost distribution, and accounting validation.
- Support month-end close activities by ensuring timely execution of project accounting transactions, reconciliations, and accounting transfers to General Ledger.
- Prepare and maintain functional documentation, test scenarios, RCA reports, and knowledge articles to support operational excellence and audit readiness.
- Work with technical teams on defect resolution, small enhancements, testing, and release validation.
- Serve as a key liaison between finance users and IT teams, ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and timely issue closure
What you will bring:
- 10–12 years of experience in Oracle R12 Project Accounting with strong functional knowledge of Oracle Projects.
- Hands-on experience in production support, ticket resolution, and business-facing issue management.
- Strong expertise in project costing, billing, revenue processing, cost distribution, accounting flow validation, and month-end support activities.
- Good understanding of cross-functional integrations with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other finance modules.
- Proven ability to perform detailed root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Experience working with business users to analyze problems, gather requirements, and deliver functional solutions.
- Exposure to testing, release support, documentation, and coordination with technical teams for fixes and enhancements.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage critical finance support activities in a fast-paced environment.
