About the role
What will you do:
As a Senior Service Engineer, you will deliver advanced service, commissioning, and troubleshooting expertise for chiller systems in mission-critical data center environments. You will:
- Perform service, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Chillers, including screw, scroll, and centrifugal systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues in chiller and HVAC systems.
- Conduct chiller start-up, commissioning, performance testing, and system optimization.
- Manage site execution for data center cooling projects, including planning, installation oversight, and coordination with contractors and OEM teams.
- Support upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency improvements in existing cooling infrastructure.
- Review technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, submittals, and project documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain detailed service reports, performance logs, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific operational protocols.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Interface regularly with customers to provide updates, clarify technical issues, and ensure timely project and service completion.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, engineering, and project management to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Submit RCA and 8D reports in a timely manner.
- Attend Monthly MOR and Quarterly QBR meetings with data center clients.
What you will bring: (Skills & Competencies)
- Strong expertise in Air‑Cooled and Water‑Cooled Chillers, ideally in data center environments.
- Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, BMS/EMS integration, and redundancy concepts.
- Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and controls issues using diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
- Strong communication skills to operate effectively in mission‑critical customer environments.
- Sound knowledge of safety standards and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving capability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience supporting mission-critical data centers or large industrial cooling systems.
- OEM-specific training or certifications (Trane, Carrier, Daikin) preferred.
- Knowledge of energy-efficiency programs, retrofits, and performance optimization.
- Project management experience or certification is a plus.
