Join our team as a Data Analyst Intern (Reporting & Insights) and help turn technology and application portfolio data into accurate, meaningful and actionable insights.

You’ll work closely with technology teams, application owners and management to maintain trusted portfolio information, develop dashboards and provide insights that support technology planning, governance and decision-making.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Develop and maintain management reports, dashboards and scorecards covering the application and technology portfolio.
• Track and report key application portfolio metrics, including:

Total number of applications and changes over time.

• Applications by business unit, domain, owner and technology.
• Application criticality and business impact classification.
• Application lifecycle status, including strategic, maintain, modernise and retire.
• End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) technologies.
• Cloud, on-premise and SaaS application distribution.
• Technology standards and architecture compliance.
• Application rationalisation, consolidation and retirement progress.
• Analyse portfolio data to identify trends, gaps, risks and opportunities and provide meaningful insights to management.
• Define and maintain consistent KPIs, metrics and reporting definitions.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reported numbers.
• Work with application owners and stakeholders to resolve missing, outdated or inconsistent portfolio information.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc management reports and executive-level reporting.
• Automate recurring reports and dashboards to reduce manual reporting effort.
• Translate complex datasets into clear visualisations, insights and management summaries.

• Management has a clear and trusted view of the application portfolio and key technology metrics.
• Application counts, classifications and KPIs are accurate and consistently reported.
• Portfolio risks such as EOL/EOS technologies, legacy applications and data-quality gaps are clearly visible.
• Application rationalisation and modernisation progress can be effectively measured.
• Manual reporting and reconciliation activities are progressively automated.
• Reports provide actionable insights that support technology planning and decision-making.

Required Competencies (What We’re Looking For)

• Degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify trends and translate findings into meaningful insights.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL and data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau, with experience developing management dashboards and reports.
• Strong attention to data accuracy, quality and consistency, including the ability to reconcile data and investigate discrepancies across multiple sources.
• Good understanding of KPIs, management reporting and application/technology portfolio information; experience in application portfolio management or enterprise architecture would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and work with application owners and technology teams to improve reporting and data quality.
